David is a member of the discovery counsel team while also conducting a litigation practice. David has represented clients in complex business disputes in both state and federal courts. He brings a sharp understanding of the court system, having managed a vibrant docket within a federal district court.
Before joining Hilgers, David was a staff attorney at a United States District Court, a litigation associate at an AmLaw100 firm, and a law clerk to both state and federal trial judges. David is deeply engaged in the South Carolina legal community and serves as a board member of the Federal Bar Association for the District of South Carolina.
Prior to becoming an attorney, David was a middle school social studies teacher in Anderson, South Carolina. He continues to work with students and has served as an attorney coach for a local middle school mock trial team.
